About Ekol Çevre

A Turkey-based environmental consultancy with more than 20 years of sector experience and offices in İzmir, Ankara and Kocaeli, working in Turkish with authorities and in English with clients.

Ekol Çevre is an environmental consultancy based in Turkey. We help companies meet Turkish environmental law and the requirements their customers, lenders and the EU now place on Turkish operations and supply chains. Our legal name is EKOL ÇED ÇEVRE YÖNETİM HİZMETLERİ SAN. VE TİC. A.Ş.

Who we are

Our team brings more than 20 years of experience in the Turkish environmental sector. The work began on the plant floor, with process consulting for waste mineral oil recycling and for chemical plants, covering design, feasibility studies, licensing, permits, operational monitoring and troubleshooting. That background still shapes how we work. When we write a permit application or an EIA commitment, we think about the people who will have to operate the plant under it.

Over time the work widened from permits and plant processes to chemicals management, greenhouse gas accounting, sustainability reporting and EU trade rules such as CBAM. Today most of our projects combine Turkish regulatory work with an international reporting requirement.

Offices in İzmir, Ankara and Kocaeli

Our head office is in Çiğli, İzmir, close to the industrial zones of the Aegean region. Our Ankara office in Çankaya is a short distance from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change and the other ministries we deal with every week. Our Kocaeli office in İzmit sits in the Marmara industrial belt, home to much of Turkey's chemicals, automotive and metals production.

Between the three offices we can reach most industrial sites in western and central Turkey within a day, and we travel further when a project needs it.

Our services fall into a few connected areas.

How we work with international clients

Many of our clients sit outside Turkey. Some are EU importers who need emissions data from Turkish suppliers, some are foreign manufacturers registering chemicals in Turkey, and some are investors building or buying plants here. What they have in common is that the regulator, the documents and often the supplier are Turkish, while the decision makers are not.

We work in that gap. We correspond with Turkish authorities, attend meetings and handle online systems in Turkish, and we report to you in English. Reports, status updates and summaries of authority letters are written in English, and we tell you clearly what each Turkish requirement means for your schedule and budget.

Site visits are part of most projects. A consultant who can visit a supplier's plant or a project site in person, speak to the operators in their own language and check records on the spot gets better data than a questionnaire sent from abroad. Because we are based here, those visits are quick to arrange and cost less than flying in a team.

Turkey is on UTC+3 all year, without seasonal clock changes. That gives us a working day that overlaps comfortably with Europe, the Gulf and much of Asia, and a few hours of overlap with the US East Coast.

What we do not do

We are consultants. We prepare data, documents and applications, and we prepare you for verification and approval. Some steps must by law or by programme rules be carried out by independent bodies, and we keep that line clear.

  • We are not an accredited CBAM verifier. We prepare emissions data and documentation for verification and work alongside the accredited verifier you appoint.
  • We are not an EPD programme operator or EPD verifier. We carry out the LCA work and coordinate with the programme operator and the independent verifier.
  • We are not a certification body and do not issue ISO certificates.
  • Emission, wastewater and noise measurements are carried out by accredited laboratories, which we coordinate.
  • We are not a law firm. Where a legal opinion is needed, we work with your counsel.

Keeping these roles separate protects you. It means the verification or certification you receive is independent, and it means our advice is not tied to selling you a certificate.
